Gifting fans with an early Christmas present in December, The Getaway Plan and Dream On Dreamer’s massive co-headline tour announcement was quick to stoke the fires of excitement around the country. With over three million Spotify streams to their name, multiple ARIA and AIRTop 10 and 20 charting positions, The Getaway Plan have proved time and time again their status as one of Australia’s most beloved rock groups. The ARIA nominated Dream On Dreamer have also been elevating themselves off the back of Australian and international acclaim, refining what has become a fierce live energy off the back of their recent album It Comes And Goes, which amassed a staggering 9 million streams. Wasting no time, the metalcore group have become fixtures of the national live scene with an accomplished body of work to match the vibrancy of their live presence.
The response to the tour has been hectic as expected, with Melbourne’s date in March becoming the first SOLD OUT show of the run. A second Melbourne show has been announced; hometown shows to remember, guaranteed. Also announced, a show for Wagga Wagga fans, with the epic double bill heading to Que Bar in March. Joining this mammoth tour, Gippsland metal quartetOcean Sleeper, who themselves have been generating much hype off the back of well received shows around the country, including this year’s UNIFY Gathering.
For The Getaway Plan, this tour will see the band re-emerge onto the live circuit after a year’s break. The release of the band’s Dark Horses album had The Getaway Plan touring consistently; the impressive independent venture clocked in at #10 on the ARIA Albums Chart, making it The Getaway Plan’s highest charting position ever in the country (Other Voices, Other Rooms debuted at #14, Requiem at #17). Renowned as one of Australia’s best live bands, The Getaway Plan are no strangers to lengthy tours; the Dark Horses album tour saw the group complete a mammoth 30 date run around the country in 2015. Refusing to slow down, the band has since toured withAlexisonfire, taken on the massive UNIFY Gathering and more recently, celebrated their seminal debut record Other Voices, Other Rooms with a special anniversary tour in 2017.
Returning in 2019 with a new live show and vigour to burn, The Getaway Plan are prepared to embark on the next exciting chapter of their career. “The Getaway Plan have been off the road for the most part of a year now. We couldn’t think of a better way to get back into the swing of things than a national tour with our longtime pals in Dream on Dreamer. Really looking forward to this one!” The Getaway Plan
Similarly, Dream On Dreamer’s 2018 album It Comes And Goes has the post-hardcore four piece exploring a more widespread sonic palette, pushing their own boundaries of creativity further in producing an album that shone with its complexities and musical depth. With over 35 million streams to their name, and nine million of those attributed to It Comes And Goes alone, Dream On Dreamer’s extensive reach has continued to grow exponentially with each new release. Enjoying the worldwide success albums Heartbound (2011), Loveless (2013) and Songs of Soulitude (2013), brought them, Dream On Dreamer have been quick to capture the attention and hearts of fans in Australia, North America, Europe and Japan over the years, with consistently sold out shows reinforcing their connection with their crowds. Continuing to develop as a formidable and powerful live band, the group won more fans on their Australian album tour last year.
For this tour, Dream On Dreamer aren’t just reconnecting with respected peers, they’re taking the positive momentum already heating up, and elevating their stage show alongside one of the country’s best. “We’ve been friends with the guys in The Getaway Plan for a while now and we’re stoked to finally have our schedules line up where we can both do this tour. It’s been in talks for a couple of years now. We’ve been in each other’s loops since the band’s inception and always looked up to The Getaway Plan as our musical older, wiser and much more handsome brothers.”Dream On Dreamer
