FLORENCE + THE MACHINE SHOW UPDATE GRAMMY NOMINEE LEON BRIDGES TO MAKE SPECIAL APPEARANCE IN ADELAIDE – BILLIE EILISH NO LONGER PERFORMING IN ADELAIDE, GEELONG & SYDNEY, DUE TO SCHEDULING CONFLICTS –

Florence + The Machine will descend on Australia for her sixth visit next January including Adelaide’s Botanic Park on 16 January. Today, the enigmatic musician announced changes to her line-ups on select Australian shows.

Due to international scheduling conflicts, breakout US teen sensation Billie Eilish will sadly no longer perform in Australia in January next year.

Billie was scheduled to appear at Florence + The Machine’s Sydney, Geelong and Adelaide dates, but will need to remain in the US in January, she has released the following statement regarding the cancellation:

hi my loves, unfortunately we all came to realize recently that we need some more time to finish something very important before going back out and doing more shows. I love you all and I’m so sorry about this 😦 I promise you I will be back in Australia and New Zealand before you know it. my love to youuu all.”

Recently Grammy nominated US RnB artist Leon Bridges, who will be in Australia in January for a headline East Coast tour, will make detour mid-tour, to make a very special appearance at Adelaide’s Botanic Park on Wednesday 16th January.   See Leon Bridges information below

Already announced on the bill, New Zealand’s Marlon Williams will join the bill with Florence + The Machine on all Australian dates, having recently returned from a sold-out world tour for his sophomore album, Make Way For Love, and London-based singer-songwriter Yellow Days will captivate audiences at Auckland’s Spark Arena, with his commanding baritone and dreamy brand of slacker-rock on his debut New Zealand visit.

In other cities and off the back of a sold-out national tour and triple j feature album, local singer-songwriter Jack River has confirmed she will join the bill at Geelong’s A Day On The Green on Saturday 19th January and Sydney’s The Domain on Saturday 26th January, which will be the largest show Florence + The Machine has ever played in Australia and one of the largest ticketed music events ever to take place in the iconic open-air venue.

LEON BRIDGES

On a short visit earlier this year, Bridges previewed material from his then, forthcoming album in two sold-out shows in Sydney and Melbourne, plus two dynamic Bluesfest sets. This summer, the Texan singer-songwriter will return to sweep audiences off their feet once again.

Leon Bridges’ sophomore album GOOD THING aims to connect his sentimentality to a future sound. Released in May this year, it rumbles with orchestrated ballads, and pops with danceable soul-funk vibes. Praised by industry, fans and critics alike, the record claimed a Top 3 US Billboard Chart debut and entered in the ARIA Album Chart Top 10.

Bridges has gone from honing his craft in a community centre – dancing while washing dishes and waiting tables – to huge success in just a few short years. He has appeared on tracks withMacklemore and ODESZA, performed for Barack Obama’s Birthday at the White House alongside Stevie Wonder, and has chalked up dual Grammy Awards nominations including Best R&B Album. His debut album COMING HOME was certified Gold in Australia, and has gone on to sell over 500,000 records and over 350 million streams globally.

A star on a meteoric rise, Leon Bridges consistently tours world over selling out iconic rooms around the world from the Greek Theatre in LA to the Leeds’ O2 Academy, and playing festivals like GlastonburyFuji Rock Festival, and our very own Falls Festival.

“Showing no signs of ever wanting to stop, the crowd would’ve gladly let him carry on all night. Truly the ultimate showman, Bridges’ performance proved that he is one of the greatest performers to witness live.” – Beat Mag

A true entertainer, Leon Bridges channels and challenges the style of an era gone by. These shows will be a look into the future with respect to the past, and are a must-see for music fans of any era.
