Single review: Emma Rowe pounces with’LIONESS’

Lioness‘, the latest single from Adelaide singer/songwriter  -and one of our featured artists – Emma Rowe, comes out with a roar.

A thumping bass drum and strong bass licks underlaid with strummed acoustic guitar, lays down the rhythm for this song which is then fronted by creamy overdriven lead guitar. This single engineered by Jarred Nettle at House of Sap has much of the style of ‘Missy Higgins‘ single ‘Scar‘ about it, which is not surprising as Rowe lists Higgins as an influence. Rowes voice is a strong and mature sound, it drives this single along at a fast pace and keeps you listening for those special nuances that makes her sound unique.

Rowes Acappella parts in the song, showcase her amazing vocal ability.

This catchy tune is one of those songs which, once you hear it, you can’t get it out of your mind.
